(63J) Training: Mission/Contacts
Mission
The National Maintenance Training center has been missioned by NGB-ARL-M to provide maintenance training and repair of ARNG 600 and 3000 gph Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU). It is the intent of the NGB-ARL-M to send all ROWPU’s to the NMTC for a modified Depot rebuild and repair. The program is centrally funded by NGB using depot maintenance dollars. By conducting the repair program the NMTC has the unique ability to offer ROWPU specific
maintenance training to Soldiers that possess the Maintenance MOS of 63J and are Military Technicians that are required to repair the units as part of their Technician duties.
Each training opportunity can be tailored to the specific needs of the Soldier
or the Technician. A sample of the training that can be offered is listed below.
Maintenance tasks trained-on include Repair of Pump Assemblies; Correct Malfunction of Gages (Non Electrical); Correct Malfunction of Reverse Osmosis Pump on a 600 GPH units; Correct Malfunction of High Pressure Pumps on a 3000 GPH units. Training also includes other 63J skill level one tasks and a block of instruction on proper Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).
The ROWPU is a complex piece of equipment consisting of the water purification unit, the generator and trailer. From a Soldier's perspective three MOS’s repair various elements, (63J, 52D, and 63B), but from a technicians perspective, all three elements are taught, to insure the technician is fully trained and can move a non mission capable unit to mission capable. If
Soldiers desire additional training in the 52D and 63B the contractor staff can accommodate with
some additional preparation.
For information regarding maintenance training for Soldiers and Technicians contact Mr. Mark Rushing at 515.727.3579, DSN: 431.3579, or e-mail mark.rushing1@us.army.mil. He can tailor a specific training package your unit members or Technicians may need or desire.
